Greener Spaces

The Friends of Woodend Mill recently submitted an application to the green spaces fund for a grant of £3000.00 to spend at the back of Woodend Mill. If we are successful, and it is a very competitive process, the grant will be spent planting 10 trees with companion planting at the base to increase the biodiversity of the area.

There is a great deal of Himalayan Basal that has invaded the river bank and we are working to thin this with a scheme to drastically reduce and ideally remove it. We hope to create an outside space of tranquility and reflection that can be enjoyed by studio-holders and the wider community. We will also be able to host outdoor arts and crafts events making the area a more usable space. Wish us luck and we will bring updates soon.
